Why Condensation on Walls Is So Common in Ireland
Ireland's combination of high humidity, older solid-wall housing, and mild damp winters creates near-perfect conditions for wall condensation. When warm moist air inside the home hits a cold external wall, it cools below the dew point and water vapour turns to liquid on the surface.
This is not a ventilation problem or a lifestyle problem — it's a cold wall problem. No amount of opening windows permanently warms the wall.
