Why do shipping containers get so much condensation?

Steel is a highly conductive material. When warm, humid air inside the container contacts the cold steel walls, moisture condenses on the surface — this is "container rain" and it causes rust, mould, and stock damage. Cork spray insulates the steel surface, keeping it above the dew point.

How thick does the cork spray need to be?

For condensation control alone, 5–8 mm is often sufficient. For meaningful thermal insulation in a habitable space, we recommend 10–15 mm. Our team will assess your specific use case and advise the appropriate build-up.

Will it lose internal space?

Cork spray is applied at 10–15 mm — far thinner than rigid board alternatives which typically require 50–100 mm including battens and plasterboard. You retain most of your internal dimensions.
