VIPEQ Thermal Corkspray

Shipping Container Insulation Ireland

Spray-applied thermal cork insulation for shipping containers. Stops condensation, regulates temperature, and protects the steel — applied directly in a single visit with no battening or boarding required.

The Problem

Why Uninsulated Containers Fail

Corrugated Corten steel is one of the worst possible materials from a thermal and moisture perspective. It conducts heat and cold almost instantly, and with zero breathability, any humidity inside the container condenses directly on the walls and ceiling — a phenomenon known as "container rain".

The result: rust from the inside out, mould on stored goods, unusable temperatures in summer and winter, and a working environment that is uncomfortable at best and dangerous at worst.

Standard solutions — rigid board insulation with battens and plasterboard — are expensive, time-consuming, lose significant internal space, and can trap moisture behind the boards, accelerating corrosion.

Common container problems we solve:

Water dripping from the ceiling ("container rain")
Rust and corrosion on interior walls
Mould damage to goods and equipment
Extreme heat build-up in summer
Freezing cold in winter months
Noise from rain on the steel roof
Uncomfortable working environment

The Solution

VIPEQ Thermal Cork Spray for Containers

Eliminates Condensation

Shipping containers are notorious for severe internal condensation. Cork spray raises the surface temperature above the dew point, stopping moisture build-up at the source.

Protects the Steel Shell

Cork spray bonds directly to the corrugated steel interior, acting as a breathable moisture barrier that slows corrosion and extends the container's working life.

Thermal Regulation

Steel containers are extreme thermal conductors — freezing in winter, roasting in summer. A 10–15 mm cork application dramatically reduces heat gain and loss.

Acoustic Damping

Cork's cellular structure absorbs impact and airborne noise — essential for container offices, studios, or living spaces.

Zero VOC & Non-Toxic

Fully safe for enclosed environments. No off-gassing, no toxic adhesives — critical when the container will be occupied.

Fast Application

Spray-applied directly to the corrugated steel in a single visit. No battening, no boarding, no lost internal width.
